Getting started

Use a mobile application while driving a vehicle to capture data for CityLens. To get started:

  1. Contact your organization to get required credentials, links, and permissions.

  2. Review requirements for devices to be used for recording.

  3. Install the CityLens mobile application and log in.

  4. When asked, grant the application access to the following:

    • Device camera to take photos and record videos.
    • Device geolocation to bind photos and videos to geographic coordinates so that they can later be used for analysis.
  5. Make sure that your device is safely mounted in the car: see the camera and mounting requirements.

  6. Start recording.

The mobile application interface contains the following tabs:

Statistics tab  CityLens tab  Settings tab

  • Statistics tab where you can see daily information on the total traveled distance and the number of uploaded and processed images. The numbers are updated when some images are captured and uploaded.
